Il Surrealismo Pop Sexy all'anglosassone ha fatto proseliti in Russia, eccovi alcune rivisitazioni in chiave erotica delle più classiche fiabe russe, sono delle chine illustrate stipendamente alla maniera del fumetto.
Some Russian artists think that there should be some unique, Russian style in depicting Russian beauty, for example mixing it with fairy-tales. You can see in this gallery drawings of Nikolay Fomin and his view on Russian beauty and Russian fairy tales:
Russian Sauna Bathing. Spot the underwater girl, swimming under the ice. Especially her eyes.
Love with a Russian Bear. That’s really scary.
Hair coloured like Russian Raven wing. Seems that author loves animals a lot.
“Russian Girl is dancing”. I can’t figure out why they splash water on her while she’s dancing.
Pregnancy and the Burden. You see the cows on the backscene? Also it’s hard to understand why the author has chosen the word “pregnant” to the title of this drawing, probably those girls are already pregnant.
Russian Flax is blooming. Have you seen flax blooming before?
“The Dawn”. The horse seemed to be scared.
“If you see a hare while dreaming, then you’ll get pregnant soon”. That’s probably Russian proverb or popular belief. Here The hares are pretty real.
“The Mirror”. Seems like everything on this picture is upside down.
“Centaurus”. Those are real monsters.
“The Fern”. Looks like some withces have got a victim.
“Gotcha” I can’t stand the faces of people in those art collection. The scenery is nice, the animals are ok, but people’s faces are sometimes scary.
But hope you liked today’s introduction to Russian modern art, and to its slightly erotic aspect
